not that I wanna whack.

Even just now at e ticket office, there's aunties dun even know abt e DBTF. Until I'd to explain to her in dialect and some examples.

No one bothered to inform everyone properly over e transition.

Well, wat are the ways would u suggest to ensure a 100% coverage of the news abt the transition then?

^Acid^ aka s|aO^eH~ SG

I must have a thing for social experiments and post-apocalyptic situations.

There's this show on Discovery called The Colony, very interesting. They put a group of people in the middle of nowhere in a thrashed out city, as if it's been destroyed in some viral warfare thing. They have to survive, establish food, water, electricity sources for survival. So they end up in a huge warehouse, securing a perimeter, etc.

There're even 'marauders', other 'survivors' that will get aggressive and attempt to steal and/or destroy their resources.

Of course, they're directed by producers of the show to not harm the colonists, but the colonists don't know that. The episode I saw, the manage to raid the warehouse via a distraction, one of the colonists had a modern bow and arrow. Thought he was gonna plunge one into em.

It's so real.

Oh wait... No wonder it sounds sooooo darn familiar...

Have ya ever played Fall-Out series???

Actually right, from wat I noticed overall. The only thing tat was well done was the roadshow. But in some sense ought to have been at every bus interchange or major MRT station.

As for the other forms of media, probably before hand say on e news, show some illustration before and after of some fare tabulation examples.

Not plainly say, ok tml we go DBTF

u shld watch electric dreams on history channel...it's a bbc social exp that has a family live through the 60s to now and watch how technology has changed our everyday live..

i enjoyed that series...

the children learnt to go outside to play and ride on their "Chopper" bicycles instead of being stuck in the house watching TV and on their computers all the time

cassie SG

you're really obsessed about public transport, aren't you?

why don't you go dig about who is going to buy out Carrefour instead? it's another of your obsessions.. grocery shopping

and that's more interesting than public transport

i think my sis knows but her mouth is zipped. think she's advising carrefour

I'll keep a lookout for that!

the Bear SG

the series really showed how technology changed...

the old blocky computers, the tape decks, turntables, televisions with only a few channels...

then they also had to deal with blackouts and all that.. quite fun

Keii SG

Well, I think situations like this are really interesting...

It's like watching a sci-fi movie or something... and I know u got a thing for sci fi fantasy settings...

I like sci-fi, leaning towards space opera kind of thing. Games and movies like Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon and Mass Effect, was nice but not my beef.

I like stuff along the lines of EVE, Stargate, Treasure Planet (Disney), even abit of FFXIII. More innovation and realism than crazy awesome stuff and visuals with minimal explanation on how/whether it can actually work in real life. (e.g. Lightsabers )

I also prefer Sci-fi to be in the near future, with plausible and logical inventions and creations, some of which also use what we have now even. Not so much sci-fi, 5000 years into the future where everyone's teleporting at a whim between universes and whatnot.

the best was when they made their own pager network, the old bbc shows and internet back in 1995!

U seemed to have forgotten Wing Commander and Dune movies...

It'll be awesome if they can turn Fall-Out into a movie...

I'm also hoping for a warhammer movie series but I dun have much hope for it... Starting from the Horus Heresy... wow... epic~

Then also, remember Mech Warrior? From the Fed, all the way including the clan wars and other history~~ Epic x 10

That one too much warfare for me lol. Dune was okay. At least the game lol. I don't follow Warhammer, not much of a fan. MW, I also never follow, play abit only. MW like Armored Core, Gundam, Appleseed, mecha suits and all that.

Keii SG

In simpler terms, I guess what I like in sci-fi, is to see ships from the 15th century, like a Galleon or something, traverse space!

An old title... Doubt U can find it, even if u did, u'll need an emulator... "Spell Jammer"

Anyway, I'm actually an even bigger fan of fantasy setting though... Think forgotten realm and such... But I think the whole series is too epic to be made into a movie series... Too much stories

anyway, 1 more hour to knocking off

computer games, i enjoyed the Lucas Art ones.. like Day of the Tentacle...

and i still miss an old title i used to play on my old 386, Syndicate.. where you have a team of 4 cyborgs to go carry out missions... after each mission, you can upgrade your cyborgs... or buy more because if a cyborg was destroyed, you have to replace that one with another

i remember playing that game.. you max out weaponry first by developing the guns to get miniguns... other weapons although more destructive are not as effective as that..

this game => Syndicate
